one month back I created a VM in TRIAL period and was using it. I was on vacation and yesterday I acknowledged the free subscription expired. I casually went into my Manage portal and thought of upgrading this to a paid one. This is ususally how things work for other Service and hosting providers. But man, I saw a limit of idiotic planning here. The VMs get deleted, you can't plain migrate the free plan to paid one. I raised a ticket '113090210707986' but there was no fruitful response. An engineer asked me to create a new machine under my Paid subscription and restore it from VHD from the gallery, but there is no VHD stored in my Storage. I'm screwed with my Data!!
On top of that, the pathetic support experience just added so much frustration that I'm just opting out of AZURE. No Microsoft!! this isn't how service is provided for such a delicate domain.
