Hi forum,

We would appreciate your input on this annoying usability issue with MS AS.

We are planning to make available financial information using an Excel workbook with pivot tables and formula reports linked to an MS AS database (SQL 2014) on an Azure Virtual Machine (Windows Server 2012) environment. Where users will connect with their AD login (of course outside of a LAN environment). This setup works in general but with the initial opening of the workbook the users gets a multitude of error message particularly this one:

as well as another "very helpful" one like this:

and the password has to be entered again and again although all references to the database use the same connection.

After you have gone a few times through this ordeal everything is working in the end but of course not feasible from a user experience perspective.

Is there a way to address this? The respective workbook can be downloaded here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/89eqkn746pc2ul8/Finviews%20Sample.xlsx?dl=0

Demo user credentials are finviews0\demo and pw: Finviews123

PS: We specifically don't want to use MSMDPUMP http access as this doesn't support important functionality for us like drill through and has other limitations.
