I am trying to create my first VM in Azure. I followed the tutorial and but cannot connect using RDP. I attempted to restart the VM, re-create the RDP endpoint, connect from a different location, resize the VM, and re-create the VM using the same VHD. None of those steps worked.
So, I deleted everything except my virtual network and started over. I still cannot RDP to the newest VM, even though I ran through all the troubleshooting steps except re-create the VM using the same VHD.
I ran a Microsoft Network Monitor packet capture while trying to connect using RDP and while running PSPING to the public port for RDP. What it shows is that I'm not getting a SYN-ACK to the initial SYN and the three-way handshake never completes.
It's acting like either the firewall on the VM is on and preventing me from connecting or there's a problem with my network setup. I've run out of troubleshooting ideas. Any suggestions?
