Http service for Azure Virtual Machines/Connect from home computer

Hi,

I successfully created a virtual machine and set up http server.
(If I type "127.0.0.1:8080" in the VM brower, I can see my webpage).

But how do I connect to my webpage from home?

I tried to ping the VM using the DNS azure provided (XXXXX.cloudapp.net). No response.
