We setup a Virtual Network and then setup an Windows 2012 Essentials azure VM within that network. It gets the x.x.x.4 IP address as expected. We can VPN to network as expected. We can remote desktop to the VM as expected.
However, if we bring up a cmd prompt on the VM and try to FTP open to a known accessible ftp server it does not connect and times out.
The Windows firewall on the VM by default appears to allow all outbound traffic.
We don't have a problem connecting to the same ftp server from other points in "internet land".
What might be the issue?
