Hey Guys,
I build a Server 2016 standard Virtual Machine in Hyper-V. Followed the Azure deployment steps and uploaded the vhd to Azure.
I've built a new Azure VM based off the image and that's starting fine and I can RDP in etc. OS hdd size is 60GB. I've currently got no other services or software installed on the VM. The VM hardware I chose was: A1_v2, Standard, General purpose, 1 vCPU, 2GB ram, 2x500 HDD.
However, I'm finding the VM very slow to do any tasks (RDP viewing speed seems to be fine). If I even run Windows updates, the whole system slows to a crawl and I can't even open a new explorer window until the updates complete.
So, my question is, do I have something wrong with my VM, or do I just need faster hardware to run it?
Kind regards
Aaron
