Adding azure virtual machines running share point 2013 to High availability set

Hi,

I am trying to evaluate our azure infra before publishing to users,

I have 2 Virtual machines running SharePoint 2013 on both of them, one of these 2 VMs is also having AD on it. We have subscribed with 99.90 availability SLA with MS. I am rally bothered if in case some outage happens and my VM goes down my production will get affected. To be safe i am trying put the VMs in to an Availability set, will this help me in achieving what i am trying to do?

The problems here could be since one of the VM is running AD and Sharepoint i can not put them in to an Availability (set. Since the availability set is recommended for the VMs which are running same kind of applications).

One more thing, we are trying to migrate from Google apps to O365, Can we use the same AD which is on one of our azure VMs for O365 authentication also? ALl i am trying to achieve is to have a single point of authentication for both O365 ad Sharepoint?

Kindly help me out in over coming above issues. I am really struck here. If there is some good documentation that could help me in doing so, kindly share with me. Thank you.

Sandeep
