Some of our virtual machines have been rebooted and not by ourselves, they have also refused to power back on. I'd like to figure out:
- why our VMs were rebooted, what was the need?
- why have they not come back up?
In an attempt to quickly resolve this issue, I deleted and recreated the VM, mounting the old VMs disk as a data disk. Upon doing so - the new Virtual Machine which initially powered up fine, refused to power up again.
The creation and deletion of Virtual Machines is a very time consuming process that I do not wish to have to repeat a lot. So I'd rather not this be the suggested solution and instead I'd like to get to the root cause as to why these VMs are not booting.
