Hello all,
Okay I've seen several posts on this issue - setting up RDS on a VM in a WORKGROUP environment on Win2012. I am also receiving the same error message as others - about having to log in as a domain user to manage this. So I thought I would post and see if there are any updates on this - it just seems so strange that this can't be done in 2012 and I need this VM up and running this coming week. We had things running smoothly on Win2008 with our old hosting provider - so when considering Azure we did the trial but with a Win2008 VM so of course no issues with the RDS side of things on that server.
When we decided to go ahead with this project and switch to Microsoft Azure we wanted to start with a fresh VM server and decided to also finally upgrade to Win2012 and then ran into this roadblock today. We have purchased the Win2012 RDS CAL's so
no problems there with licensing - just need to get RDS working as staff connect either via RDS or a RemoteApp I'll set-up on the server.
Any tricks to get around this? If not any suggestions for how to move forward - we only have this one VM - approximately 10 users - should we look at promoting it to a DC to get this working?
Thanks so much for any help you can send my way! This Canadian girl truly appreciates it!
