Time out connection error via PUTTY to my VM (linux-ubuntu)

I can't connect to my azure VM (linux-ubuntu) with putty and SSH port 22. Probably the cause is that we turn on the firewall and forget to open the port 22. The only port that I remember we opened is 8080. Now I can't access the VM and turn the firewall off.

Is there an other way to fix this? Can I access the VM with putty via 8080 (probably not)?
