Hi,
We are experencing an intermittent Azure DNS malfunctioning in one of our Azure VM (in West Europe) while trying to access to internet resources through software or browsers.
TCP/IPv4 configuration is set with default configuration as in the following screenshots:
On the event viewer, these kind of error appears:
Source: DNS Client Events
Description: Name resolution for the name xxx (with xxx=the requested host) timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.
If we change manually the DNS server with google DNS server (8.8.8.8), the DNS resolution starts to work fine.
We didn't change VM network configuration in the last month, nor installed any windows update. Our other VMs in the same region works good.
Is there any known DNS issue currently involving Azure VMs? Any idea about possible causes and solutions (apart from putting googleas DNS server) ?
Virtual machine details:
- DNS name
- geoserver-iem.cloudapp.net
- Host name
- geoserver-iem
- Public virtual IP (VIP) address
- 23.100.0.116
- Internal IP address

Thanks,
