I am new to Azure and I am extremely confused by the premium Suse Linux images. We just set up a trial account and I created a new Linux machine using the "SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP3 (Premium Image)" image from the gallery. According to what I have read, the premium images are supposed to include "support and patching". I am extremely confused by how this works, and I can find zero documentation that explains it. So I have the following questions:
- Are the patches automatically applied to my VM? If so, how often does this take place (and when), and how do I approve/disapprove which patches get installed?
- I am planning to install apache, PHP and MySQL to host a couple wordpress websites on this server. Will the patching include patches for apache, PHP and MySQL, in addition to the OS?
- The support structure makes no sense to me. The pricing calculator includes a line item for "Linux support" and a separate line item for "support". Do I need both of these?
- How do I configure or purchase support options? My boss made me a co-administrator for this subscription, but I do not see any place to purchase/change support options within the management console. Is this not available for the free trial, or is it something I would not be able to see as a co-administrator?
I'd appreciate any insight...maybe I just need to talk to the sales department.
