I have set up a Windows cluster in Azure in order to practice setting up SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups in Azure. At least three times, my VMs have forgotten the network settings after a restart. The DC and nodes are all running Windows 2008 R2 Server. I'm following this tutorial http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn249504.aspx which had me just set the DNS to point to the DC. When this problem happens, I get the error message "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request." To fix this, I have to log on with the local admin account and fix the network setting. While annoying, this is not a terrible issue when just practicing, but would be really bad if this were for production. Any ideas on why the network settings would disappear after some restarts?
