We're seeing regular instances of the following event (Event Id 833) on a VM running SQL Server 2008 R2
SQL Server has encountered 1 occurrence(s) of I/O requests taking longer than 15 seconds to complete on file [F:\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Data\KITTENS.mdf] in database [KITTENS] (8). The OS file handle is 0x0000000000000884. The offset of the latest long I/O is: 0x000000045fa000
This type of event varies in frequency and degrades SQL Server performance significantly. Any idea when these types of IO issues will be resolved? Seems to be a really bad issue today in particular.
