Hello
I want to install SQL server on an Azure machine and I notice that there is a preconfigured Azure instance where I have Windows 2012 and SQL Server 2012 already installed. I can also see that there is a preconfigured Azure instance with only Windows 2012 installed.
I have a SQL Server 2012 license already and in fact, I want to use it for this install so I actually want to choose the Windows only Azure instance but then it got me wondering if the Windows + SQL Azure instance might be specially configured so that it is more performant.
I want the most performant server that I can have so my question is, is there any difference between these two options:
- Buy the Azure instance with Windows and SQL installed
- Buy the Azure instance with only Windows and install my own SQL afterwards
Sincerely
Matthias
