Hi,
I need to create an active directory domain on virtual machines, and I planned on making the
domain controller also a DNS server.
I read here in the forums and also in a document by microsoft that giving a VM a static is bad because it can make network problems.
document (look on step 4, section 9): http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/virtual-networks-install-replica-active-directory-domain-controller/#test
the above document says not to use static ip on a domain controller, what if some day i'll need to restart that domain controller and its ip will change? (it will cause problems to all the VMs in that domain).
Today I saw the below document which says static ip is ok for domain controllers:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/azure/dn630228.aspx
So what am I suppose to do? which document is the winner? (-:
one more thing, why do I need to setup a virtual network to create an active directory domain on VMs in azure?
Thank You!
