Hello, I'm trying to make sense of the discount offered to MSDN subscribers as it relates to SQL Server image pricing. According to this pagehttp://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/offers/ms-azr-0061p "All instances for Windows and Windows Server Virtual Machines, Cloud Services, Web Sites, and HDInsight are discounted up to 40% off our Pay-as-you-go rates. The MSDN rate on these services is equal to the rate for a Linux virtual machine of the same size and type." So an A2 Windows VM, which is normally .18 /hr, is actually .12 /hr (based on the Linux VM rate). My question then is what discount is applied to a SQL Server image?

I read here http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/licensing-faq/?rnd=1 that MSDN licenses can be run on Azure Virual Machines, so maybe the answer is just install the MSDN SQL Server license on a plain Azure Windows VM and don't bother with the "Azure SQL Server" image. Is that right? While that might be one solution to keep cost down, I am still curious is any MSDN discount applied to a SQL Server Azure image?
