Can't connect to VM after size change

I have created a new Server 2012 Datacenter VM in our Azure, added it to the domain (have a separate VM as DC), installed Remote Desktop Services role and IIS role and everything was working well.

Until when after adding 2 data disks and changing the size of VM one up (from A1 to A2)  I can no longer connect to the VM via my RDP. When connecting as the domain admin I get "An authentication error has occurred. The Local Security Authority cannot be contacted. Remote computer xxx.cloudapp.net." When I try as local admin I get "This computer can't connect to the remote computer. Try connecting again. If the problem continues, contact the owner of the remote computer or your network administrator"

On the portal both the VM and its Cloud Service are Running. I have checked if any of the public ports have changed but they are fine. Also, I am unable to ping this VM anymore within the Virtual Network.

Any ideas for troubleshooting greatly appreciated
