Architecture Question: SharePoint Farms with Azure Virtual Machines and Cloud Services

Howdy,

I have an architectural question that hopefully you all can help with. I'm wanting to host a SharePoint farm with all related components in Azure as VMs. That includes SQL AlwaysOn, Domain Controllers, Office Web Apps, etc. Everything should be load balanced and highly available.

I'm trying to figure out how I should have the cloud services set up for this scenario. Do I put all the SharePoint servers in one Cloud Service, all the SQL servers in one Cloud Service and so on?

Or do I have one Cloud Service per virtual machine and leverage the Azure Traffic Manager for load balancing? Will that also satisfy the Azure SLAs?

There's a diagram here http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/manage/windows/fundamentals/compute/ that shows a conceptual architecture for how a SharePoint farm could be deployed but I want to double check with you all to see how you have approached this scenario. Thanks!
