Reaching out for a Step-by-step help in creating a shared drive on Azure VM to be mounted as a network drive on out of network users.
Hi, I have some experience with Microsoft and network concepts but I'm fairly new with Servers and Windows Azure. Our company is 100% cloud and mostly using Office 365 E3-E4 licenses; no on-prem server.
I'm looking to:
- Install SAGE 50 Quantum for multiple users; software must be installed on a Server
- Software requires users to map the network drive for them to install the program locally but share all pertinent financial data
I already:
- Created users under Office 365
- Created the Active Directory in Azure so users also appear on my Azure Dashboard
- Created a Virtual Machine which I forgot -AND- I'm unable to link to my newly created Virtual Network
a) the Virtual Machine has a data disk; mounted and working
b) Sharing services have been installed; not configured
c) AD DS services have benn installed; not configured (not sure required)
- Created an Endpoint per previous postings but unable to connect; not sure how it works
- Created a Virtual Network but after creating the Virtual Machine so the VM does not seem to be linked to the Virtual Network
- Created an Affinity Group and everything that I think I need
Despite my searches on various postings, I have yet to fully understand:
- What to do and how to use / connect to an Endpoint
- What to do to link the VM to the VN
- How to accomplish what I'm looking for...
I'm seeking for experts help in providing a step-by-step guide or links to ultimately:
- Have users connect and map a network drive located on a Windows Azure Virtual Machine
- Users are all over the map so if they need to connect to a Virtual Network, I don't know how to have users connect to the Virtual Network
Thank you;
S
