We are having a problem connecting to our ftp server from a vm inside of azure. When we initially set it up things were working fine. However, on the 4th test we received a connection problem that will not go away. Now, whenever we connect via a command prompt we get the following sequence:
ftp ftp.ftpserver.com
connect to ftp.server.com
connection closed by remote host
A cursory look would lead us to believe that our ftp server is refusing the connection. However, in looking at the logs of the ftp server, there is absolutely no connection attempt from the vm inside of azure. This would seem to be a problem that is isolated in the azure vm. My next step is to do a capture on our firewall, however with the logs showing no attempt, I doubt I will see anything in that capture. Does anyone have an idea on what could be causing this?
