I can't RDP to my machine after running Sysprep

I followed the instructions on this page: http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/documentation/articles/virtual-machines-capture-image-windows-server/ Yes, I now know that this was a bad idea. I never even went through with the actual Capture because the isntructions then stated it would delete the VM, which I didn't want.

Now the VM is "running", and I can restart it, but I cannot RDP to it. I can't do anything to get control of it. It's still serving pages via IIS, but I need to get RDP into it.

Clicking "Conenct" in the dashboard downloads an RDP file, but that won't connect.  I've verified that the RDP Endpoint is configured (I did not do this, this was automatic) to use 53620. I'm trying to get to that but...nothing.

I've been reading articles all night, and it appears that I'm completely without recourse? How on earth can this be?
