Certificate for RDWEB In Azure

I already installed RDWEB

but i still need to install 'ssl certificate.'

I have some question though

1. Is SSL cvertificate (provided by third party) required to do remote access

2. do i need to register for a domain and bind it to my webserver

to be able to use certificate?
